SLICEplus 4.0.0 Landscape Contracting

LOADING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THOSE CURRENTLY ON 3.8.8 or 3.9.9

• EXIT ALL WINDOWS APPLICATIONS PRIOR TO STARTING THESE INSTRUCTIONS
• The update will automatically rebuild your table indexes prior to updating tables. This is done to avoid table update errors in an index is not date-synchronized with its table.
• Your Login needs to have "administrative rights" in order for the update to load completely to the workstation.
• Make sure that you have made a backup of your database.

You will need to load these updates for every SLICE account that you have.  For example, if you have SLICE1 and SLICE3 you must load both applications listed here.  Load the Workstation option from your administrative workstation and make sure the path is set for your server.  IE S:\Slice\Exe for SLICE1 where S:\ is my server path.

     SLICE1 path S:\SLICE\Exe

At the prompt “Unzip to folder:” be sure to change the drive path by using the browse button if your drive path is not S.

Then select UNZIP.

When you get the message “xx file(s) unzipped successfully,” select OK,then CLOSE.

Log on to your SLICEplus application.  If you have loaded correctly, it will indicate that an Update has been loaded and that the tables need to be updated when you logon for the first time.  Respond with YES. This update of tables should only happen once.  If you do not get this message, then you may not have loaded correctly.

When the other workstations logon to SLICE they will be notified that they need updated executables “Your workstation needs the latest upgrade of SLICEplus Executables!  Do it Now?” and they should respond with YES.

Server Update Instructions

The server section needs to be loaded to the drive where your database is located (ie:S) S:\SLICE\SLICEn\DB.
 
You will need to load the server section for every SLICE account that you have.  For example, if you have SLICE1 and SLICE3 you must load both versions listed here.  This download will automatically load new and enhanced reports into the database located on your server drive (ie:S) S:\SLICE\SLICEn\db.
             
At the message “Be sure to change the drive path to be the same drive path that your SLICE database is located. IE S:\SLICE\SLICE1\DB” Respond with OK.

     SLICE1 path S:\SLICE\SLICE1\DB

At the prompt “Unzip to folder:” be sure to change the drive path by using the browse button if your drive path is not S.

Then select UNZIP.

Then when you get the message “xx file(s) unzipped successfully” select OK then CLOSE.

After completing the server installation, download the Table Layouts to the same drive only one time to give you updated descriptions on table structures for all SLICE's.
